[The fact that Crane attacked others prior to this comes of no surprise. Finding out she had other samples was pleasant news. Seeing her admit to one of them being her own gave him a light surprise.]
It was smart of you to get a sample from your attack.
[He passes up on pressing for details and instead offers a compliment. He doubts he would get much information on what happened out of her and it's not that important in the long run. "Wasn't a pleasant experience" can suffice for the time being.]
Whatever he did to her, it was strong. She was hospitalized immediately and will only be out after this weekend. They've tied her down and heavily sedated her to keep her from trying to escape out of fear. I'm a little surprised his dosage wasn't lethal.
[Obviously Crane wanted her alive, but the amount of chemicals in her at once must have caused heavy strain on her body.]
[ Harrison is a smart man and it shows in how he chooses to address the topic. Raina will get into it a little further when the time comes. After all, she's going to have to preface him looking at her blood by telling him she's not entirely human. ]
I have to wonder if it was entirely chemical or if part of it was psychic driving. Do you happen to know if this woman was a patient of his? I wonder if we can obtain her records. I do know a man on the inside.
[ Little does she know that Harrison ALSO knows Will Graham. ]
I don't believe she ever was, but I didn't ask. Questioning her over a hospital bed about her experiences with him didn't feel like good tact in the moment. I'm sure I can get more details out of her when she leaves the hospital.
[He normally wouldn't care for being tactful, but he knows he has to be delicate here. Even asking her about why she got caught nearly caused a panic attack.]
You mentioned psychic driving, is that a power of his?
Not in this directly, but he was also a victim of Dr. Crane's. For months, Hiro was subjected to mind altering therapy that eventually led him to snap and attempt to kill someone he knew from home. The extent of that psychic driving haunts him even still and manifested itself, as spoken by Hiro himself, as this voice that is constantly there, telling him to do these horrible things.
I see. He's very young if I'm remembering right. It's not surprising that Crane could bend his mind so seamlessly. Though I suspect he already had subconscious inclinations toward violence, even if small, for it to get so dangerously far.
[Though aren't all humans really violent, to some degree or another? It's just the degree.]
It won't be an easy recovery process, for him and Gogo. But there's not much we, or anyone, can do for them now. Honestly if people knew Crane was a threat, and a number did, they should have made it clear long before now.
[Total hypocrite advice, when he's on the same Justice League shitlist as Crane.]
I am interested in seeing how their minds rebound from such damage. Hiro seems to have the support of many friends. And perhaps Gogo will have people there for her as well?
As for Crane, his downfall had to be his own. Even had someone exposed him before now, he is under protection from the one who claims to be the devil. Whether you believe in that sort of supernatural superstition or not -- you cannot deny how powerful Lucifer is.
That's the guy with his own reality tv show, right? I bet he's great at parties.
[He can believe that guy is Lucifer. He jut isn't impressed by the name alone.]
I'll be keeping an eye on her recovery myself. As for the blood, I'll note anything of interest, compare it to the other samples you have, and leave it for you to look at later.
I look forward to hearing about your findings. When we meet in person, I'll enlighten you to a few more additional details in regards to my sample. Just know that you will find differences between my blood and that of a normal human. The differences aren't dramatic, but they are clearly a factor to consider.
["Of a normal human." She never mentioned it before, but then again he had no reason to assume that she was anything but human. Appearances can be deceiving, as it seems to usually be the case.]
Different species, different results, of course. I'll wait for your information.
[And, after a moment:]
Don't worry, your secret's safe.
[If it's a secret at all - it could be something she just omits because it doesn't really matter, not here. He's just making a guess.]

I've spoken with him once. Smart kid, budding engineer it seems. Is he involved in this somehow?
